Growing up I heard a lot of things about coffee and how
- it can cause heart problems
- make you lose weight,
- can cause insomnia,
- some people even said drinking coffee can cause miscarriage.
- coffee should be taken by people living in cold region only
this made me scared of taking coffee.
- coming of age when I check on the internet i found a lot of myth about coffee such
- drinking coffee can lead to addiction,
- it will make you sober,
- it can result to stunted growth
- the main chemical constituent of coffee is caffeine, and also contain trigonelline
other foods that contain caffeine are tea, chocolate soft drinks like cocoa cola, Pepsi etc,
- caffeine mainly acts as CNS stimulant and diuretic
- for people more sensitivity to caffeine taking coffee can lead to wakefulness not necessary causing insomnia
- caffeine can cross the placenta so it is advise that pregnant women can take one cup of coffee a day which contain 200mg of caffeine per cup
- caffeine contain stimulating action and can enhance the stimulating of food but it action on weight loss is not known
- caffeine as not be scientifically proven to cause stunted growth
