SPF on Sunscreen Products what it really means

Many people buy skin care products  such as creams, foundations and other skin products containing SPF with a number but don't really understand what that stands for or what it means.

SFP: is Sun Protection Factor and the number shows the degree of how much it protects.
SFP: is a measure of how well a sunscreen will protect from UV -B rays,
UV-B rays causes sunburn, skin damage & Can contribute to skin cancer.
SPF always come with a number like SPF 15, SPF 30.
For SPF 15; if it takes 10 minutes for skin to get burnt by the sun then with SPF 15 sunscreen would allow you to stay in the sun without getting burnt for about 150minutes (a factor of 15 times), this depends on the skin type, intensity of the sun, & amount of sunscreen applied.
For best protection, experts recommend the use of SPF 15

SPF 15 blocks 93% of UV -B rays

SPF 30 blocks 97% of UV -B rays

SPF 50 blocks 98% of UV-B rays
So in the real sense SPF 30 gives only 4% more protection than SPF 15.
Sunscreen with high SPF like 75 & 100 gives alittle more protection than SPF 30.
The effectiveness of sunscreen depends on the amount of cream applied
